What is a Pharmacy Technician?

Pharmacy Technicians work alongside Pharmacists in a hospital, retail, or other clinical pharmacy setting to help dispense prescriptions and support patient care.

In order to become a certified Pharmacy Technician, students must have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete a certificate or associate degree program. Many states require Pharmacy Technicians to pass a national certification exam in order to obtain certification.
