What is a certificate program?

What are the benefits of a certificate program?
Certificate programs offer focused training and can be completed in a shorter amount of time than traditional college degree programs.
They are often more affordable than traditional college programs and can provide job-specific skills and training.
Can I transfer my credits from a certificate program to a traditional college degree program?
Genesis College may accept course credits transferred from accredited post-secondary educational institutions in the U.S at no additional charge to the student.
Students can earn up to a maximum of 30% of the total program clock hours from credit transfers. Students must earn at least 70% of the total clock hours at Genesis College.
What are the admission requirements for Genesis College?
In order to qualify for enrollment in our programs offered by Genesis College, you are required to satisfy the following requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Completed Genesis College Admission Application
- Official transcript or certified copy of High School diploma/General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Successful completion of Wonderlic entrance exam (no score cut-offs)
- Current vaccination records
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (Tdap)
- Varicella

What is a Medical Assistant?
Medical Assistants (MA) are an important part of the healthcare team. MA performs a variety of both administrative and clinical task; ensuring that the physician’s office operates efficiently and that every patient receives the best quality of care.
Medical assisting is one of the fastest-growing career tracks in the Allied Health community.
More and more jobs are becoming available to medical assistants, but they are also becoming more competitive. This has led many to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to set them apart from other applicants.
What responsibilities do medical assistants perform?
Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
Record patients’ medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians’ instructions to patients.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
Where do medical assistants work?
Medical assistants work alongside nurses and physicians in ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics.
What Certification will you receive upon completion?
Upon completion of our program, you’ll be prepared to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Phlebotomy (CPT) and Certified Electrocardiograph (CET) Certification exams, CPR, Blood-Borne Pathogen Certification and First Aid Certifications and begin your career with valuable credentials to work in healthcare.

Pharmacy Technician (PhT) Program

How to become a certified Pharmacy Technician in Hawaii?

Genesis College prepares students to become certified Pharmacy Technicians through a national certification exam. Our primary goal is to ensure that our students obtain certification in their field soon after graduating from our program, so we have incorporated certification exam preparation into the curriculum.
The flexible Pharmacy Technician program at Genesis College allows students to work full-time while participating in the program so they can advance their careers while still supporting their families.
How long does it take to become a Pharmacy Technician?
The Pharmacy Technician program at Genesis College is a 12-month certificate program which includes 225 clock-hour externship in a pharmacy setting.
